Alexander "Pepper" Kaufman

Alexander "Pepper" Kaufman

Founder | Boxing Coach | Sparring | Powerlifter

Why I Love Boxing:

Boxing is my great escape. It is my time to lose myself and tap in to something almost “savage”. When I train, I give myself the permission to think and feel without censorship. I am “me”, in its most rare and raw form.

My Class:

My wish is for my clients to have such an incredible experience, that they can’t help but tell everyone they know about it. I want to blend authenticity and charisma to give you a workout like nothing you’ve experienced before.

My Nickname:

I am the founder of PepperBoxing. Pepper originated as an acronym for Practical.Exercise.Personally.Planned.Equals.Results. My life’s work has been devoted to health and wellness. Allow me to add some spice to your training.

Kimberly "Slice" Gilfus

Kimberly "Slice" Gilfus

Boxing Coach | Pro Bikini Competitor

Why I Love Boxing:

I love the dedication and discipline that boxing requires. I enjoy the challenges that come with jumping rope, executing combos to the face and really pushing my body to the limit.

My Class:

By competing professionally in bikini, I have amassed a wealth of knowledge for toning and symmetry. I plan every session to be fun, light and energetic. I also integrate my knowledge of body re-composition to make sure my clients not only feel “Great” but look “Great” too.

My Nickname:

There is nothing more rewarding than being the catalyst for change in the lives of others – Except maybe pizza. Pizza is pretty rewarding and they do call me “Slice”.

So I ask you – Do you want a piece of me?

David "Cookie" Cook

David "Cookie" Cook

Boxing Coach | Sparring | MMA | Muay Thai | NPC Physique

Why I Love Boxing:

I love the escape that boxing provides me. When someone is trying to punch you in the face, everything in your life fades away but that moment. When I enter the gym I can leave life at the door and just work on David.

My Class:

My fitness experience makes my classes special. I’ve trained for and fought in MMA and Muay Thai, I bring a fighters perspective and technique to training. My experience in bodybuilding and powerlifting also allows me to shape my classes around strength, conditioning, and toning. My goal is to have everyone walk out of my class with more confidence both physically and mentally.

My Nickname:

I’ve had the nickname “Cookie” since middle school, so you’d think I’d be sick of it. It helps remind me to just chill out, relax and not take life so seriously. Plus, everyone loves some raw cookie dough. Am I right?

Lia "PooPooie" Knapp

Lia "PooPooie" Knapp

Boxing Coach

Why I love boxing:

In my experience, there is nothing more effective at forcing you to connect with the strongest, fiercest, most driven parts of you than boxing. It is a focused art form, but the stakes are high, and the consequences for failure are immediate, and difficult not to learn from.

My Class:

I want the people in my class to feel empowered and fueled by the strength and skill they acquire through boxing. I want them to find their fire as they push to do better in the gym, so that they can become warriors in the ring, and in all aspects of life.

My Nickname:

Poopooie, is a light hearted reminder of the way the general public looks at chronic illness: The “woe is me” type of derogation that conveys apathy and ignorance, or the pity that gives the illness power. I talk about it because it is my motivation behind trying to lead a strict and healthy lifestyle at a young age, but nobody wants to be defined by their weaknesses.

Jay “Kid Biscuit” Heidemann

Jay “Kid Biscuit” Heidemann

Boxing Coach | Sparring| MMA

Why I Love Boxing:

I’m a young mixed martial artist that has been fighting for over 6 years. I appreciate the tremendous grace and finesse that boxing requires. I train tirelessly to achieve that balance between fighter and athlete.

My Class:

I hope everyone that takes my class learns at least one new thing each time they “see me”. I want my athletes to feel the level of intensity that I try to bring to each class and to feed off my “vibes”. My aim is for you to leave taking home an increased love for self and love for boxing.

My Nickname:

The Pepper team has dubbed me “Kid Biscuit”, which wasn’t my favorite to start with. But after careful consideration, chocolate biscuits are pretty delicious, so I’m ok with it.

Jessica “Figgy” Figueroa

Jessica “Figgy” Figueroa

Boxing Coach

Why I love boxing:

I must start off by saying that I for one, am a lover and not a fighter. I say this because boxing as a whole is a contact sport. With boxing I have found new CHALLENGES, and as a former Survivor contestant, I love me some challenge! I do spar but I mostly love the “solo” training of boxing. Boxing has continued to help build my confidence and help my inner badass shine through. I love boxing because at the end of the workout, I’m stepping in my own sweat. My favorite training sessions are the ones that make me feel accomplished when it’s all said and done. That is what boxing is for me.

My Class:

Boxing to me is the best way to sweat. It’s a two-for-one cardio and strength workout while targeting the entire body. I want everyone in my class to feel comfortable on all levels. If you’ve never thrown a punch before it’s okay. If you’ve fought before, that’s great. Believe it or not, it’s so easy to throw anything as simple as a jab incorrectly and injure yourself. In my class, expect to learn all the basics. I break down all punches and combos with you and teach you the correct way to fight. We will throw. We will sweat. We will get better together.

My Nickname:

Figgy is a nickname that I’ve had since I was a little girl. Figgy originates from my last name, Figueroa. Every coach I’ve ever had called me that Fig or trouble, and it’s stuck with me ever since.

Benedict "The Old Man" Cheng

Benedict "The Old Man" Cheng

Boxing Coach | Personal Trainer | Yoga

Why I Love Boxing:

I love how Boxing requires as much skill and mental acuity as it does stamina and strength. The athlete becomes as focused as they do tenacious. The duality excites me.

My Class:

When you leave my class, I want you to feel satisfied and relieved that you “put” everything you had on that bag. My wish is for you and your 15 classmates to feed off eachother. They punched harder because you punched harder. You punched faster because they punched faster. That you are a Champion with AND without your gloves on.

Nickname:

Never underestimate “old-man” strength.  Age is just a number… in my case it’s a pretty big number, but not as big as my will to keep getting stronger. Besides, Boxing keeps me young.

Stephen "GucciTron" Grand

Stephen "GucciTron" Grand

Boxing Coach | Sparring

Why I love boxing:

I love boxing because it is a reflection of life. This sport, as relentless as it is, will reveal to the participant all the hardships and victories they could imagine. Boxing is a true test of mental toughness more than anything. If your mind is not strong then your body will fail no matter how much talent is present. For me, it is a source of healing, fueled by the desire to never give up on myself. I will always be my toughest opponent no matter who stands across the ring.

My Class:

You can expect to learn all the fundamentals from beginner to expert in my class. I will teach you technique while giving you the best workout you’ll find in Nashville. My athletes will build self-confidence and increase mental toughness with my style of teaching.

My Nickname:

I have been given the nickname “GucciTron” because my style in the ring is classy and flashy like a “Gucci”. “Tron” because I transform into the meanest and toughest guy you’ve ever had the luxury of laying your eyes on.

Dani "Fanny" Kammann

Dani "Fanny" Kammann

Boxing Coach | Welcome Desk

Why I Love Boxing:

Life has a way of pulling you in a million different directions and it’s easy to lose yourself amongst the chaos. When I’m boxing it’s hard to think about anything else except well, boxing.  It’s oddly calming and almost clarifying despite the possibility of getting hit in the face. I’m so focused on boxing, I can’t afford to be thinking about life outside the ring.

My Nickname:

So I’m not 100% clear on why the name Fanny was given to me. I’ve decided it must be because I have a nice butt and it rhymes with Dani.

Lindsey "ButterCup" Preston

Lindsey "ButterCup" Preston

Boxing Coach | Welcome Desk

Why I love boxing:

Boxing is incredible cardio and is super fun, but most importantly it teaches me how to fight for myself. Through training with the Pepper Boxing Team, I have been encouraged and empowered to have more confidence. As I get stronger in my body, I am also getting stronger in my mind and my heart.

My Nickname:

My nickname, after much debate, is Buttercup! The name comes from the bright yellow flower that blooms in the spring and summertime. It is also the name of a Powerpuff Girl and I do pack some serious power behind my punches!
