Founder | Boxing Coach | Private Training | Sparring

Why I Love Boxing:
Boxing is my great escape. It is my time to lose myself and tap in to something almost “savage”. When I train, I give myself the permission to think and feel without censorship. I am “me”, in its most rare and raw form.

My Class:
My wish is for my clients to have such an incredible experience, that they can’t help but tell everyone they know about it. I want to blend authenticity and charisma to give you a workout like nothing you’ve experienced before.

My Nickname:
I am the founder of PepperBoxing. Pepper originated as an acronym for Practical.Exercise.Personally.Planned.Equals.Results. My life’s work has been devoted to health and wellness. Allow me to add some spice to your training.

Angela “Contact” Vervier

Angela “Contact” Vervier

Boxing Coach / Private Training

Why I Love Boxing:
I have been practicing Martial Arts my entire life. Combat sports have taught the positive effects of discipline and strong character. Boxing is my escape from reality. I leave a part of me on the bag or in the ring every time I train. I am happy to demonstrate what punch like a girl means in a male dominated sport.

My Class:
I want you to come to my class to have fun, learn new skills, make friends, sweat, build and leave feeling EMPOWERED! My classes are about “YOU”, and I encourage “YOU”, to invest in building a better and stronger “YOU”. I’m a sucker for team building, so expect a lot of partner work. Don’t be shy….cheer on your teammates. I’m so excited to meet ya!

My Nickname:
I practiced Shotokan Karate most of my life and it helped me develop a lot of reflex skills. One of those skills is being super quick. In our very first instructor open call, the group played a little game where the goal was to tap each other’s shoulder as quickly as possible (we had the right to block or move). When we touched our opponent’s shoulder we yelled “Contact”. I managed to make “Contact” with every potential instructor 🙂

Boxing Coach | Private Training

Why I Love Boxing:
Boxing is my push. My challenge. My connection to people. I’ve always been very competitive and grew up participating in team sports all the way through college. Boxing continues to push me to want more…to try harder…to keep that competitive edge and hungry mentality alive today. It’s challenging because it is essentially you against you. Nobody will make you show up to perform. It’s all on your shoulders.

My Class:
Have fun but lose yourself. Enjoy your time but don’t forget why you showed up. This class is not my time, it’s your time. It’s an opportunity to be better. It’s an opportunity to find new ways to push yourself, clear your mind, and learn an incredible sport in the process. My goal is to continue to push you, challenge you, and teach you new boxing techniques as often as possible. My goal is growth.

My Nickname:
The Honey Badger has obtained the reputation as one of the most savage, care free animals in the kingdom. He truly doesn’t give a crap! Boxing has a lot of stereotypes and creates a lot of walls for clients that have never participated in our group style classes. My goal is to break these barriers so that when you come to class you can be the most authentic, care free version of you as possible! Boxing is an escape and fun! Come to my class and leave the world at the door. It’s time to lose yourself.

Boxing Coach | Private Training | Sparring

Why I Love Boxing:
I’ve been infatuated with all forms of martial arts for 25+ years. Through disciplined practice, I discovered my personal power and a sense of confidence that I didn’t find anywhere else. The combination of mastering a skill, married to a physical ability is the perfect means to drive us to be more than we were. For the past 10 years, I’ve absolutely lived to share that feeling with others. ~ All glory to the Art. Through it we achieve greatness.~

My Class:
I am a high energy motivator and professional wise cracker. My goal with every class is that we work hard BUT we also have so much fun that the time goes unnoticed. I love to switch things up. I work hard to create new formats, new drills, and new ways to inspire you to train like a champion.

My Nickname:
“Krusher” was one of the fight names given to me by a training partner shortly after I picked up serious combat sports. This was probably in part due to my infamously relentless fighting style. I “krushed” and got “krushed” by countless workouts that I probably shouldn’t have survived…but here I am 😉

Stephen "GucciTron" Grand

Boxing Coach | Private Training | Sparring

Why I Love Boxing:
I love boxing because it is a reflection of life. This sport, as relentless as it is, will reveal to the participant all the hardships and victories they could imagine. Boxing is a true test of mental toughness more than anything. If your mind is not strong then your body will fail no matter how much talent is present. For me, it is a source of healing, fueled by the desire to never give up on myself. I will always be my toughest opponent no matter who stands across the ring.

My Class:
You can expect to learn all the fundamentals from beginner to expert in my class. I will teach you technique while giving you the best workout you’ll find in Nashville. My athletes will build self-confidence and increase mental toughness with my style of teaching.

My Nickname:
I have been given the nickname “GucciTron” because my style in the ring is classy and flashy like a “Gucci”. “Tron” because I transform into the meanest and toughest guy you’ve ever had the luxury of laying your eyes on.

Why I Love Boxing:
I was hooked after my first boxing class at Pepper! Boxing gives me a kind of strength that I haven’t had before. I am able to take control and push myself harder than I have ever pushed myself before. I miss playing soccer because it was a contact sport and boxing is a great alternative. Ultimately, it is an excellent stress reliever; jobs, relationships, finances – all of that goes away when I am boxing.

My Class:
I want to inspire you to push yourself beyond any limit you may have for yourself. I will push you from start to finish, no matter what barriers or challenges you have, then maybe ask for a little more. I will strive to make it an awesome workout for you.

My Nickname:
T-time (Tay’s Time) You are on my time, so for 50 minutes: I want you to forget all your worries, stress, and negative vibes! I want to make your work out fun and intense, leaving you both loving and hating me.

Benedict "The Zen" Cheng

Benedict "The Zen" Cheng

Boxing Coach | Private Trainer | Yoga

Why I Love Boxing:
I love how Boxing requires as much skill and mental acuity as it does stamina and strength. The athlete becomes as focused as they do tenacious. The duality excites me.

My Class:
When you leave my class, I want you to feel satisfied and relieved that you “put” everything you had on that bag. My wish is for you and your 15 classmates to feed off each other. They punched harder because you punched harder. You punched faster because they punched faster. That you are a Champion with AND without your gloves on.

My Nickname:
Living a balanced life is my priority. I have worked hard to calm my mind but make savage my body.
