Frequently Asked Questions
Expect To Sweat: Dress in the appropriate attire. Hydrate before and after class – it’ll help when pushing through tough intervals and recovering post workout.
Upon Arrival: We recommend arriving 15 minutes before your scheduled class. Check-in with the front desk & cross out your name on the sign-in sheet. There’s nothing worse than feeling rushed when class is starting. *Please note that heavy bags will be given away promptly at the start of class to waitlist clients. Exceedingly late arrivals become disruptive to the instructor and other clients, please see booking guidelines below for tardiness and cancellation policies.
Gear: We offer custom Quick Wraps and custom Leather Boxing Gloves to our clients. Simply drop your gear in the bin post session and we will sanitize to insure cleanliness. Boxers also have the option to buy their own Quick Wraps and Gloves should they desire.
Feel free to Bring Your Own Gloves and Wraps (12-16oz recommended.)
We are here to help and we’re happy to show you around our studio and take you to your numbered bag for class. We love answering questions and helping with last minute equipment and bag setup, so don’t be afraid to ask for help!
BE GOOD, BE KIND: We aren’t a typical boxing gym. We welcome all shapes and sizes, beginner to expert. Negativity has zero place at Pepper Boxing.
Inside the bag room:
1. Be aware of those around you. The group atmosphere is an excellent motivator and works best when everyone is mindful.
2. Please keep conversations to a minimum (it disturbs others trying to focus.)
3. No phones.
4. No bare feet.
5. The door opens roughly 5 minutes before class is scheduled to begin.
6. No one will be allowed in to class more than 6 minutes after class has begun.
7. Punching only, please.
8. Please no personal belongings inside of the bag room. We have plenty of lockers available to securely store your things.
- Please make sure all valuables are removed and stored in a locker or at home. Staff will be present but Pepper Boxing is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
DURING YOUR CLASS
Wear comfortable clothing and be ready to sweat. We encourage everything from tank tops and sports bras to your comfy sweats. Make sure to bring supportive sneakers or boxing boots and please note you must wear shoes in the bag studio.
Each client will have their own bag. Water bottles and towels are the only personal items allowed in the studio.
HAVE A BLAST
Pepper Boxing has programmed classes that are challenging for all levels. You’ll probably come back, so take your class at your own speed. And above all else, have a BLAST. Our instructors are always available after class if you want to chat, social media or ask any questions. If you want 1-on-1 attention, we recommend setting up some Private Training with the instructor of your choice.
Our 50 Minute Class will comprise of a light warmup, shadow boxing, heavy bag combinations and weight bar exercises between rounds. Each round is 3 minutes with a 1 minute “rest”. Leave some energy for abs at the end of class.
PLEASE BE PUNCTUAL
Please check in at least 15 minutes before class starts. Please take note, bag reservations will be released to ‘walk-in’ clients at the start of the class.
We know commuting in Nashville and especially in the GreenHills area is unpredictable at times, so if you’re running late just call the studio, we will hold your bag for up to an additional 6 minutes (2 rounds.) After your 6 minute grace period, bags will be released to the waitlist.
Need to cancel a class but want to reschedule or keep the credit? Just call the studio 12 hours prior to your scheduled class. Unfortunately anyone attempting to cancel within the 12 hour window of scheduled class time will forfeit the credit. No exceptions.
If you would like to drop into a class as a walk-in, we recommend arriving at least 15 minutes before the scheduled class start time. Anyone placed on the waitlist will be informed at start of class whether or not a spot has opened. *Please take note – for those on the waitlist, there is a chance of missing the warm-up.
